Tourism is the main driver of the economy with most foods and daily items being imported. The 90s saw continued stable growth with an average growth of 4% per annum causing the World Bank to list the Seychelles as a middle income developing economy. Tax System

Overseas Offshore Companies are exempt from tax in the Seychelles, including: all share information, interest, rent, compensation and income derived from other bonds and credits as well as other company derived income. Apart from this, Overseas Offshore Companies are not subject to inheritance tax or gift tax. At the same time, an Overseas Offshore Company is exempt from all business taxes.
